What is Working Equitation? How can I use it to help me and my horse gain confidence, learn to be a team and build a stronger foundation to use in other disciplines like competitive dressage, jumping or even just being more confident and competent on the trail or at home? Learn answers to these questions and more in this 4 hour clinic and ‘play date’ while learning to ride your horse in a classical dressage methodology and develop yourself and your horse’s ability to work together with purpose.
The cost is $65 plus trailer in fee of $15. Limited spots available. No charge to auditors, bring a chair and questions! Stalls available for an additional $20 (so $35 for a stall or just $15 for trailering in).
We will spend time on the history and practice of the sport and current opportunities to ride and compete in the US. We now have for the first time in history, a WAWE qualifying event THIS YEAR on THIS COAST! WAWE is the World Association of Working Equitation, the governing organization of Working Equitation world-wide based in Portugal.
The USAWE is our nation’s officially recognized organization and WESEVA is an Affiliate Organization of USAWE. The Qualifying show is in Bulls Gap, TN this October! Learn more about our international team opportunities at this clinic!
Amie Perryman will be spending 4 hours Sunday, July 14 sharing her journey and helping fill in the gaps for those interested in learning this wonderful sport and interested in competing or just how to use the principles of WE to bring something more to their riding and relationship with their horse!
The meaning of the word ‘dressage’ is training, or ‘to train. Working Equitation is a discipline of training that uses training of the horse and rider to benefit and improve their ability to work – navigating obstacles that resemble those that may be found when working cattle or in the field.
This clinic is an introduction to the sport of Working Equitation. It includes application of dressage fundamentals to different obstacles, navigation between them and the basics of how to negotiate each obstacle for different levels of rider/horse teams.
If you want to ride a test, we can also schedule a time to practice your USAWE test! We are looking forward to bringing many more events like this as well as clinics and schooling shows to the Southeastern VA area!
